The coming few days could prove to be crucial for Vitor Roque, as both he and Barcelona look to finalise his exit from Catalonia.

Roque is not a part of Hansi Flick’s plans for the new season, with the club ready to offload him either on a loan deal or sanction a permanent sale.

Real Betis have been closely linked with a move for the Brazilian starlet, as the club are desperate to sign a new forward.

However, the Spanish outfit are set to face renewed competition from Sporting CP, who were linked with a move for the forward earlier in the summer.

In fact, Sporting CP have stepped up their efforts to sign Vitor Roque this summer, with the club’s sporting director Hugo Viana landing in Barcelona.

This is according to Gerard Romero, who has posted a video of Viana getting into a car, presumably in Barcelona.

Romero believes Viana has landed in Barcelona to discuss the possibility of signing Vitor Roque.

This comes shortly after news reports of Real Betis sporting director Manuel Fajardo, along with his assistant, arriving in Barcelona to discuss a potential loan deal for Roque.

Romero adds that there is now an open race forming between Sporting CP and Real Betis, for the services of the Brazilian outcast.

Barcelona do have an excellent relationship with Real Betis, but in this case, the Catalans could consider offloading the forward to Sporting CP, as it means they won’t have to register him in the squad.

However, everything may depend on Roque himself, especially considering the fact that the Brazilian was reportedly interested in continuing in Spain.
