There were a couple of Spurs loanees in action over the course of the midweek in the EFL Championship, this week was a bit of a weird schedule as the games had a range from Tuesday until Sunday, however a few of these games have been postponed due to the fact some clubs in the league are still in the FA Cup, with the fourth round taking place over the weekend. Nonetheless there were three games taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday, with two of them involving Spurs loanees. Let's take a look at how they got on.
Tuesday night saw South Korean youngster Yang Min-hyeok play his second match for West Londoners Queens Park Rangers as they hosted Blackburn Rovers at Loftus Road. The 19-year-old would once again start on the substitute bench for the R's, with the team being in fairly good form over the weeks just before he came to the club. Rangers would get off to the perfect start by taking the lead in just the 5th minute, but would concede a penalty just after the half time interval, which the Lancashire club would convert.
On 66 minutes hyeok would be subbed onto the pitch, meaning he would be in action when the Hoops grabbed a winner just ten minutes after, coming from former Premier League midfielder/full-back Jack Colback. hyeok would win one of his two ground duels he attempted, which was a tackle, showing he can get stuck in and work back for the team. He also completed nine of his ten passes in the 24 minutes he played to help his team see out the win. Queens Park Rangers' next game is an away trip to Coventry City on Tuesday 11th February. They have no game at the weekend due to being knocked out the FA Cup in Round 3 by Leicester City.
Leeds United and Israeli winger Monor Solomon were in action on Wednesday as they travelled to Coventry City, to take on a side who had won their last four games under new manager Frank Lampard, and only conceding one goal in that time, so this was never going to be an easy game for the Yorkshiremen and Solomon, but it's one they needed to win if they want to make sure they gain promotion to the Premier League next season. Leeds would get off to a great start by scoring the first goal in the 17th minute, courtesy of an assist from Solomon. That's now seven goal contributions in the last six games for the 25-year-old, with four of those last five coming before the 20 minute mark, setting the tone and calming the nerves for his team mates. The Whites would double that lead shortly after and in the end easily see out the game for a comfortable 0-2 away win. Solomon made four key passes in the game, with two of them being a big chance created (one resulting in assist), complete all four of the dribbles he attempted, would complete a cross, win four of his five ground duels and have thirty five touches before being substituted on 78 minutes. A superb performance from the Israeli who is really enjoying his football in West Yorkshire, and now the club are five points clear at the top of the Championship table. Leeds now turn to FA cup action at the weekend where they host fellow Championship side Millwall, before an away game at Watford the following Tuesday.
