Standard Liege have announced that defender Alexandro Calut has signed a new deal with the club. The side announced that the 21-year-old left-back has renewed his deal until 2026, with the club having an option to extend this by a further two seasons. Calut joins Henry Lawrence in renewing his contract in recent weeks, moves that could indicate that the club are almost ready to announce who their new owners will be, with 777 partners having been in talks to sell the club since the summer.

Calut has played 10 games for the senior side this season, as well as one for the second team SL16. He was meant to spend the 2023/2024 season on loan at OH Leuven but an injury meant he was unable to make a single appearance for the fellow Pro League side. Calut has been capped at U19 and U17 level by the Belgian national team.

Injuries have hampered Calut to start his career and even this season he has suffered an injury that may keep him out for the next month or so.
