Stenhousemuir and Renfrew moved into the top half of the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship with wins in a dramatic day of SWF national leagues action.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle travelled to Stenny looking to maintain their title run after suffering a home defat last week, but faced a rejuvenated Stenhousemuir who scored twice in the second half to send them back to the Highlands empty handed.
After what had been a tense 80 minutes, with Jen Horrocks in the Caley Thistle goal having tipped a free kick brilliantly over the bar, Sarah Mcleod converted a penalty and Sarah McWilliams struck two minutes later to lift their side above Falkirk in the table for the first time this season.
In the western derby, a hat-trick by Michaela Brown helped Renfrew to a 5-0 lead before Morton pulled two goals back to keep things more respectable.
East Fife returned to the top of the table with a hard-fought 2-1 home victory against Forfar Farmington, while Glasgow Girls and Women returned from Dundee with maximum points after beating Dryburgh Athletic 3-1.
Damage to their facilities from Storm Eowyn had meant a postponement of Stirling University’s game against Hutchison Vale, while a failed pitch inspection at Lawsondale meant Falkirk did not travel to Aberdeenshire to face Westdyke.
There was no call-offs in the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One, with leaders Bonnyrigg Rose rescuing a point from the visit of rivals Armadale Thistle with a 2-2 draw in what was a fantastic advert for the division. Fellow title-challengers St Mirren were surprised in Denny by Dunipace who ran out 7-3 winners, while Queen of the South moved within a point of the Buddies with a 3-2 win at Edinburgh Caledonia.

Airdrie ran out 6-0 winners against Dundee West, moving them six points clear of the relegation play-off spot as second bottom Giffnock were edged out at home 2-1 by Kilwinning FA.
In the regional leagues, Dunfermline Athletic remain top of SWFL Central after beating second-placed Linlithgow Rose 4-3 in an entertaining encounter, while Ross County and Elgin City both won to keep things tight at the top of SWFL North.
With Rossvale Development’s game postponed due to storm damage, Bishopton moved top of SWFL West after beating Gleniffer Thistle 3-1, and Glenrothes Strollers maintained their unbeaten run at the top of SWFL East with a 5-0 defeat of East Fife development.
Cambusdoon remain in command of SWFL South after putting 11 past league newcomers Newton Stewart.
