The Swede has a release clause in his contract and it has been claimed that Stoke have now made a move.

The Potters have activated the release clause in his contract and the goalkeeper is now on the verge of moving to the bet365 Stadium.

Johansson will be in Stoke today to undergo a medical ahead of completing the transfer to the club, with the Potters winning the race for his signature.

It is claimed Rotherham are set to bag a fee north of the £1m figure from the Swede’s departure from the club; it had been thought the clause was £900,000.

Steve Evans will hope to reinvest the proceeds from the sale as he prepares Rotherham for life in League One next season.
