Strasbourg retain Khalil Fayad interest | OneFootball

RC Strasbourg Alsace held an interest in Montpellier HSC’s Khalil Fayad (20) last summer and that interest could be reignited during the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.

Strasbourg, as well as AS Monaco, were interested in the midfielder last summer. However, he ultimately remained with his formative club. It has been a disastrous campaign for La Paillade who currently sit rock bottom of Ligue 1, nine points off Le Havre AC who occupy the relegation play-off spot. Relegation to Ligue 2 looks increasingly likely.

Relegation will likely spark a mass exodus from the club. Fayad, who has played 15 games in all competitions this season, is one of those earmarked to leave. A figure towards €10m was touted for Fayad last summer.

That figure is unlikely to be attained this summer, due to the club’s likely relegation, however, Strasbourg remain interested. Liam Rosenior is a fan of the player and a transfer valued between €4-6m is on the cards, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter.
