We have finished 2024 with a convincing home win. In the rearranged ADMIRAL Bundesliga 6th Matchday encounter against SK Austria Klagenfurt, three superb goals gave us a 3-0 win.
The opening minutes went just the way we wanted. We created some chances right from the start, with Petar Ratkov (1') and Capaldo (7') having the best of them. At the other end of the field, it took a little while until Peter Pacult's side showed what they can do, but they almost took the lead completely against the run of play. Bobzien raced behind our defence, only to be denied by Alex Schlager (16').
The visitors then had a few moments on the break with Mads Bidstrup twice having to come back to stop a Klagenfurt transition. We increased our attacking power and had to wait it out for further opportunities - which duly came before the break. At the end of a great combination move, Dorgeles Nene thread through for Oscar Gloukh, who tucked the ball via the inside of the post and in (40'). Our boys were boosted and went to look for the next goal - and it came in some style! A cracking Capaldo cross to the back of the box was met by Nene on the volley as we doubled our lead (44'). The fans saw one-way football in the second half, albeit not of the spectacular variety. Austria Klagenfurt tried to crowd us out and limit the damage to them, as we kept the ball circulating at will. We needed a little patience as we continued to look for a way around the steely opposition defence.
The cherry on the top came with a dream Gloukh pass through the middle of the defence to Bobby Clark, who turned and converted clinically for his first Austrian Bundesliga goal (73') as we secured the three points to end our 2024 in football! Now it is time for a break before we go again in the New Year. It all starts with a big friendly match on Monday 6 January at 18:00 CET against FC Bayern! Tickets are on open sale.
I think we made a good start. We could have taken the lead in the first minute, and the first 15 were good in general. After that we lost our rhythm a bit, unfortunately, but in the second half after the goals we were better and controlled the game well. It was a good win, and we could have scored even more - but the three points are the most important!

This win will do us good. It's a great feeling to go into the winter break with that after a difficult season so far. We aren't used to that. You can see what we are capable of, now we need to keep at it - that was a good way to end!
