Plymouth Argyle striker Freddie Ladapo could soon be a Black Cat according to reports out of Plymouth.
According to the Plymouth Live, Sunderland are close to agreeing on a fee in the region of £500,000 for the 26-year-old goal scorer.
However, Sunderland are not the only League One club looking to add Ladapo’s service for the upcoming season as Portsmouth has also shown interest.
Ladapo signed a two-year contract with Plymouth Argyle last summer after a short spell at Southend United.
During his tenure with the Pilgrims, the Englishman went on to get 19 goals in 49 appearances.
Since the Pilgrims were relegated at the end of the season, Ladapo is currently one of 12 players under contract at Home Park for next season.
However, it doesn’t look like Ladapo will remain at the club and the lure of Sunderland could be enough to entice the goalscorer.
