According to a report from L’Équipe, Abdoullah Ba (21) is set to join Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque on loan from EFL Championship side Sunderland.

Ba joined Sunderland from formative club Le Havre AC back in the summer of 2022 for €1m. He has gone on to make 74 appearances (four goals, five assists) for the club, however, he has made just one first-team appearance this season. That came in the EFL Cup.

The midfielder is now set to leave the Stadium of Light, at least for now. As per L’Équipe’s report, Ba will join Dunkerque on a straight loan move from Sunderland in the dying hours of the transfer window. The versatile midfielder, whose contract with Sunderland runs until the summer of 2027, arrives at Dunkerque with the view to helping them towards promotion to Ligue 1.

Currently, Dunkerque are fourth in Ligue 2, seven points behind leaders FC Lorient and four points behind Paris FC, who currently occupy the final automatic promotion place.
