It's fair to say that Swansea City supporters will be hoping that this summer's transfer window is an improvement on last year.

The Swans were busy last summer, but just a handful of their signings have made any sort of impact, and the club will need to be smarter this time around to ensure they sign players who will improve Luke Williams' squad.

There were signs in the January transfer window that Swansea were beginning to learn from the mistakes of the previous summer, and the likes of Ronald and Przemyslaw Placheta proved useful additions.

Swansea need to strengthen in a number of positions this summer, so with that in mind, here are some signings they should make.

Marek Rodak

Former Fulham goalkeeper Marek Rodak is now a free agent after being released by the Cottagers, and with plenty of Championship experience, he should be on Swansea's radar this summer.

The Swans desperately need a goalkeeper after Carl Rushworth has returned to parent club Brighton following his successful loan spell, and ideally they'll want to sign someone on a permanent basis instead of having to sign someone on loan every summer.

The Slovakian international is only 27, which is still relatively young for a goalkeeper, and he has 111 Championship appearances under his belt, playing a major role in two promotion winning campaigns at Fulham.

Luke Williams will be fully aware that they can't start the season with Andy Fisher and Nathan Broome as their only options between the sticks, and it's crucial that they sign a goalkeeper this summer.

As a free agent with plenty of Championship experience, Rodak could be the perfect fit for Swansea.

Ethan Erhahon

Swansea City have Jay Fulton and Joe Allen on their books along with the talismanic Matt Grimes, but their midfield could do with freshening up, and Lincoln City man Ethan Erhahon could be a good addition to Luke Williams's squad.

The 23-year-old joined the Imps in January 2023 from St Mirren, and he's been a standout performer in the third tier, making 50 appearances in all competitions last season.

He captained the club to a League Cup win away to Sheffield United in August, being trusted to wear the captain's armband despite being 22-years-old at the time.

Dubbed "the best defensive midfielder in League One by a mile" by Lincoln boss Michael Skubala, he also admitted that the club would struggle to hold onto the Scotsman and that the club are expected to fetch a club-record fee when he does depart.

The former St Mirren man recently won both the club's Players' Player of the Year award, and the Fans' Player of the Year award at Lincoln, so it seems just a matter of time until a Championship club comes calling.

Swansea would be much better off investing in a player like Erhahon this summer, instead of loaning someone from a Premier League side like they did with Charlie Patino last year.

Troy Parrott

Swansea will need a striker this summer, and Spurs man Troy Parrott could be a very decent addition.

People will point to Parrott's poor form at Championship level during previous loan spells (scoring just 3 goals in 43 games), but the Irishman has enjoyed a very successful 2023/24 season, and deserves another chance in the second tier.

The 22-year-old spent the season on loan with Excelsior Rotterdam in the Eredivisie, and whilst he wasn't able to help them avoid relegation, he scored 17 goals and registered five assists in 32 appearances, scoring two hat-tricks in the relegation play-off games.

The spell in the Netherlands seems to have got his career back on track, and he'll be hot property this summer with AZ Alkmaar already registering an interest in him.

With just a year left on his deal at Spurs, he could be available for an affordable price, and Swansea should certainly be interested in him this summer.
