Hosts could rotate after securing knockout status

Germany are already through to the knockout stages at Euro 2024 and could well be joined by Switzerland.

The tournament hosts beat Hungary on Wednesday to seal their safe passage into the next round, while the Swiss drew with Scotland.

No team with four points has ever not gone through as one of the best-third placed teams and playing what could be a rotated German side could be a boost to their hopes of claiming another victory.

Date, kick-off time and venue

Switzerland vs Germany is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Sunday June 23, 2024.

The match will take place at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt.

Switzerland vs Germany team news

Fabian Schar broke his nose early on but played on through the pain in Wednesday’s draw with Scotland.

Breel Embolo appeared off the bench and will likely start having struggled with his fitness before the tournament.

Julian Nagelsmann was able to rest Jamal Musiala and Robert Andrich, who is a yellow card away from a one-game ban, midway through the second half against Hungary.

There were no reported injury issues from that match with Die Mannschaft naming an unchanged XI which may see some changes now they are qualified.

Much depends on how the Germans line up of course but the Swiss could catch them cold if they are to make changes.

Switzerland to win, 2-1.

Head to head (h2h) history and results
