The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) disciplinary committee has handed Montpellier HSC winger Tanguy Coulibaly (21) a two-game suspension for his actions in the club’s 2-2 draw with Lille OSC.

The Montpellier winger caused a brawl late into the game when he kicked a football at the Lille head coach Bruno Génésio. The head coach ran onto the pitch as he briefly chased Coulibaly down. The Lille bench responded by flooding onto the pitch, primarily to calm their manager.

However, Mitchel Bakker (24) who was on the bench at the time could be seen chasing Coulibaly down where he confronted the Montpellier player. Both Coulibaly and Bakker received red cards for their actions in the match, however, the Lille wing-back only received a one-game suspension.

In a game where tensions ran high, Montpellier head coach Jean-Louis Gasset had also been provided his marching orders. The former Olympique de Marseille interim took exception to a number of refereeing decisions and has been given a one-game suspension.
