Rangers visited Dens Park this afternoon to lock horns with Dundee in the Scottish Cup quarter-final. They defeated mighty Red Star Belgrade last midweek in the Europa League Round of 16 (first leg) and the momentum continued against the Dee as the Light Blues clinched another 3-0 win to book a trip to Hampden Park.
Below are the Rangers players rated in their win against Dundee FC.
Jon McLaughlin: 7
Was handed a start ahead of Allan McGregor. The custodian was hardly tested between the sticks en route to clinching a clean sheet in this Cup tie.
James Tavernier: 8.5
Earned a penalty midway through the first half and then converted the same showing his expertise from the spot. His relentless runs, crosses and cut insides caused problems in the Dundee backline.
Connor Goldson: 8
Grabbed the rebound after Helander’s header and made no mistake to find the net around the 9th-minute mark. Was in the right place at the right time to deal with the hosts’ attacks.
Filip Helander: 8
Played his part in Goldson’s opener, also showed his composure in the defensive third. Made some crucial recoveries, blocks and clearances as the left centre-half.
Calvin Bassey: 7.5
Exquisite down the left with his lively runs, link-up play, swift footwork and crosses. As the things stand, Bassey is now ahead of Borna Barisic in the pecking order.
Ryan Jack: 7.5
Operated centrally as a deep-lying playmaker. Broke Dundee’s moves in the middle of the park, also instigated attacking threats with swift transitions. Made way for Alex Lowry late in the match.
James Sands: 7
Featured as a double pivot alongside Jack. Much better from the USMNT international who lost his place in the centre of the pitch despite back to back starts since joining the Gers back in winter.

Glen Kamara: 7
Exhibited his technicality, vision and creative spark from a slightly advanced midfield slot. Created a few chances for the attackers before making way for Fashion Jr at halftime.
Aaron Ramsey: 7.5
A rare start for the Wales maestro who came close to finding the net but was denied of the line around the hour mark. Should start contributing more to meet Rangers’ season goals. Made way for Charlie McCann late in the contest.
Ryan Kent: 7
Kent, too, had his volley cleared off the line by Cameron Kerr. Played his part in the build-ups as he looked menacing down the left before leaving the pitch for Amad Diallo midway through the second half.
Alfredo Morelos: 6.5
Came close to finding the net on a few occasions. Made way for Kemar Roofe at the break as the Light Blues already had a 2-0 lead by then.
Fashion Jr: 8
Looked certain to score soon after his introduction, but the Zambian was denied spectacularly by Harrison Sharp in the Dundee goal. He eventually fired in minutes before the final whistle to make it 3-0 in favour of the Glasgow giants.
Kemar Roofe: 6.5
A decent half of football for the attacker who has found his minutes limited of late.
Amad Diallo: 6.5
Needs to do more to earn his place back in the starting XI.
Charlie McCann: 7
Enjoyed his minutes since coming on to replace Aaron Ramsey.
Alex Lowry: 7.5
Set it up for Fashion Jr who made no mistake to find the net.
