Teddy Teuma set to leave Reims at the end of the season

Stade de Reims are in turmoil and, as per L’Équipe, their captain, Teddy Teuma (31), could leave the club upon the conclusion of the campaign.

Reims, following a strong start, have not won a game in Ligue 1 since 10th November and currently sit just two points above the relegation zone ahead of Olympique de Marseille’s visit on Saturday. Teuma is expected to feature in that game after having been dropped from the matchday squad entirely during the last gameweek – that despite his status as club captain.

Manager Samba Diawara has publicly criticised his recent performances as well as his captaincy credentials. It is within this context that L’Équipe understands that the Malta international (41 caps) will leave Les Stadistes at the end of the season, regardless of whether they remain in Ligue 1 or are relegated to Ligue 2. Teuma is therefore not expected to see out his contract, which runs until 2027.
