Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos sent a message of gratitude the way of teammate Brahim Díaz, on the back of the club’s meeting with Manchester City.

Real, of course, are fresh off another night to remember on the continent on Tuesday.

After making the trip to The Etihad for a Champions League playoff meeting with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Los Blancos found themselves trailing by two goals to one late on.

Another trademark comeback, though, ultimately culminated in a 3-2 triumph for Carlo Ancelotti’s visitors.

Kicking the turnaround into gear was the aforementioned Brahim Díaz, who slotted home the equaliser on the rebound just two minutes after stepping onto the pitch.

And breathing an immediate sigh of relief was fellow Blancos star Dani Ceballos.

Midfielder Ceballos was responsible for giving away the penalty which led to Man City retaking the lead 10 minutes from time on Tuesday.

After seeing his blushes spared, the former Arsenal man therefore took to the comments section of Brahim’s post-match Instagram post, to write:

‘Thank you for saving me from not playing anymore for the next 2 months’
