Enzo Fernandez has been speaking about Enzo Maresca and has shared what the Italian does that has helped the squad a lot.

Maresca replaced Mauricio Pochettino in the summer having guided Leicester to the Championship title last season, and he’s made a brilliant start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are currently second in the league and exceeding expectations, whilst they could even go top with a win against Everton on Sunday, as Liverpool kick off against Tottenham after that game.

Fernandez shares how Maresca is helping Chelsea squad

It was a big step up for Maresca, but he’s spoken about how he had no doubts over taking the job, and you are starting to see why.

The 44-year-old has come in and managed to instil a clear identity and style of play, whilst he’s also managed to get the players to buy into his ideas quickly.

A number of players have made huge strides under Maresca including Nicolas Jackson, Marc Cucurella, Moises Caicedo and Fernandez himself.

There’s a great feeling around Chelsea at the moment and a real togetherness in the squad, whilst Maresca has already built a connection with the fans.

Fernandez opened up in a recent interview about what Maresca has done which has helped the squad a lot this season.

“He is very honest, always up front and that has helped the group a lot,” he told Sky Sports.

“You can see we’re very happy and that is thanks to him and his staff.”

The conversation around Maresca has changed massively since the start of the season, where many in the media tipped him to struggle.
