SD Eibar goalkeeper Luca Zidane (25) has said that he dreams of playing for boyhood club Olympique de Marseille during an interview with Carré.
Luca, son of Real Madrid legend Zinédine Zidane, is currently first-choice for La Liga 2 side Eibar, featuring 22 times for the Spanish club this season. He is under contract with the club, currently fifth in Spain’s second division, until 2026, however, Zidane harnesses dreams of playing for Marseille – the team he has supported since a child.
“OM? It was a dream to play there and it still is. The atmosphere at the Vélodrome – it’s what you love in football, with this adrenaline and with these people that push you to be better. Marseille is our family city. I am proud to be Marseillais. OM is the best club in France. Whatever happens, I will be an OM supporter, we all support OM in our family,” the Frenchman told Carré.
Luca Zidane has never played football in France, having come through the ranks at Real Madrid before joining Rayo Vallecano on a free transfer back in 2020. He joined his current club Eibar, also on a free transfer, back in the summer of 2022. Zidane has expressed a desire to play football in France and revealed that he has even in the past held talks over a move to Le Hexagone, but a move has yet to take form.
