The Bundesliga is back in Salzburg again

At home to Austria Vienna on Saturday

It has been a long four weeks since our last home match. We celebrated a draw against Dynamo Kyiv at the end of August that took us into the Champions League, and since then we have travelled to every match. Our spell away from Salzburg ends this Saturday, 28 September (17:00 CEST)!

Our opponents are FK Austria Vienna. Nine points from seven matches have made Aleksandar Dragovic and Co a bit of a surprise package, who most recently held Sturm Graz to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday (two a two-man advantage). The Violets have only claimed wins so far against LASK (2-1) and WAC (3-1), with Stephan Helm's side without a win in September.

The clash on Saturday will be a meeting of two squads with very different flavours. We are well known to have the youngest starting XI of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga on average, some 22 years and 202 days. FAK, on the other hand, have the oldest team in the league with an average age of just under 28.

Our approach has certainly done us no harm against the opponents in the past, as we are unbeaten in 18 Bundesliga matches against Austria, and have won 14 of those. We will do everything we can to further extend this run – with our fans behind us as we finally take to the Red Bull Arena again! Want to be there but don't have a ticket yet? Austria didn't make such a great start to the season, but they have stabilised by now and taken plenty of points. It will definitely be a tough clash against them. We are playing at home and want to play our own style of football. I think it's good that we have a match every three or four days. You can grow together quickly because of that and develop as a group, which is our aim. We want to show ambition and passion, perform dominantly and battle for a win - by playing good football too.

Pepijn Lijnders

I am definitely looking forward to the match on Saturday, as we finally have a chance to play at home again. Austria Vienna recovered from going 0-2 down against Sturm Graz, and will be very motivated as they visit us and look for a win. We want to put up a fight, of course, and play dominantly from the first minute on, giving our all to hopefully get a result at the end.  I've been here for a while now - around six months. It was a bit of a difficult start, as I was injured and ill for a while, and didn't play that much. Those are all things you can learn from though and make you stronger. Things are going a lot better this season, I've made a few appearances and got an assist this week in the cup. I feel good and can really say that I've arrived at FC Red Bull Salzburg.
