The City Group, of which Manchester City is a subsidiary, are looking to add Colombian side Independiente Medellín to their portfolio.
Having founded New York City FC and Melbourne City FC, the City group are looking to expand across the globe.
They own a 44.3% share in Spanish side Girona and recently added Uruguayan club Atlético Torque to their growing ‘City family’.
Independiente Medellín would, then, be a second venture in South America.
A big side in Colombia, Independiente Medellín have huge support and finished fourth in the league last season.
Reported talks are at an early stage but there are already valid doubts surrounding how a relationship would work, with the City Group’s model at odds with what DIM stand for.
