Midfielder Víctor Guzmán, who was signed by the Chivas for $10m but had to return to Pachuca due to a doping scandal, is still waiting to dispute the positive drug test that banned him from featuring in the 2020 Clausura.
The 25-year-old was assigned to a particular physical trainer to work with every day while still with Pachuca, hoping that his name can be cleared and he can play this season.
‘Pocho’ Guzmán has not been able to train with the Tuzos squad or use any of the institution’s facilities, so the midfielder has had to use alternate means in order to stay in peak condition.
The defensive midfielder is also being advised by a group of lawyers hired by Pachuca, who are confident the case will be resolved after the results of his ‘B’ sample are known.
If the results come back negative, Guzmán will likely be able to play for Pachuca again immediately or the transfer to Chivas will be completed again.
