‘The Premier League is my dream’ – Arsenal target keen on move | OneFootball

Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov has admitted he wants to move to the Premier League amid interest from Arsenal and a host of English top-flight clubs.

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with Sudakov, who hopes to join his international teammate Mykhailo Mudryk in England.

Sudakov has compared his style of play to Spurs star James Maddison and his Manchester City counterpart Phil Foden.

Napoli had a £34 million bid for the 21-year-old rejected in January. Shakhtar are looking for upwards of £60m, and the fee could dissuade the Gunners, who are prioritising landing a forward.

Sudakov will not be short of options, having proven himself in the Champions League, scoring against Barcelona in the first leg last October and emerging as the Man of the Match in the reverse fixture.

“I was telling Misha (Mudryk) about how much I want to play in the Premier League and how it would be great to play in the same team,” the youngster told inews.

“Misha told me that I was not ready for the kind of pressure that happens in England and if I do come I need to be ready for that. But I am.

“Oh, the Premier League is my dream. It would be great to play there at one of the top clubs. I cannot highlight any of them as my priority – they are all famous clubs.

“As Pep Guardiola said, to win the Premier League is more difficult than winning the Champions League.”

Sudakov ended the campaign with six league goals and two assists in 23 appearances and weighed in with two goals across eight Champions League and Europa League games.

His statistics are not mind-blowing, but he has the talent and potential to play for a Premier League club.

Interested clubs will likely be keeping tabs on him at the European Championship in Germany next month.
