The late cancellation of the match initially schedules for 3pm on 25 January 2025, was as a result of an early morning stadium inspection after the ravages of Storm Eowyn which hit after a red weather warning was issued across much of Scotland.

Celtic Park was unsafe to stage a match that afternoon

It quickly became apparent that Celtic Park was unsafe to stage a match that afternoon and in the interests of supporter safety the decision was reached to postpone the match, with the re-arranged match for this Wednesday 5th February being confirmed shortly after the club notified supporters of both clubs that the game was off.

A short Celtic statement on the morning of 25 January read as follows:

Today’s scheduled Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Dundee at Celtic Park has been called off. Unfortunately, due to the stadium damage sustained yesterday we have been advised that we are unable to proceed with today’s match.

While clearly this is disappointing, the safety of our supporters will always be our priority. The rearranged fixture will take place on February 5, 2025 with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Supporters had already travelled to Glasgow

Many supporters will have already set off for that game were left disappointed and frustrated and many of those will not be able to attend the midweek this week, so Celtic’s announcement that the game can at least be watched on Celtic TV via PPV is very welcome indeed.

Some supporters like myself were unable to attend on 25 January but can make the game on Wednesday night so it will be Paradise and not PPV for me! However watching the game live on PPV is better than not seeing it at all.

Here is the latest announcement from Celtic confirming that Celtic v Dundee on Wednesday night is available on Celtic TV via PPV.

Dundee’s shock defeat

Dundee were hammered 6-0 at home to Hearts at the weekend, but recently gave Celtic a real scare in the 3-3 draw at Dens Park. It took an Arne Engels penalty in stoppage time to rescue a point for Celtic.

Raith Rovers bringing 3000 fans to Celtic Park on Saturday for Scottish Cup tie

A win against Dundee will see Celtic move back to 13 points ahead of theRangers before attention turns to the Scottish Cup against Raith Rovers on Saturday afternoon. The Kirkcaldy side has sold out their initial allocation and Celtic has now sent through an additional 300 tickets to meet with expect demand. That will see around 3000 away supporters inside Celtic Park on Saturday.

That’s going to add to the atmosphere and notably it’s also similar to the allocation that theRangers will receive when they come to Celtic Park next month.
