Two players lead the way when it comes to replacing the sidelined Jude Bellingham in the starting line-up of La Liga giants Real Madrid over the coming weeks.

That’s according to Marca, who have on Friday provided the latest on the situation in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

All associated with Real, of course, were dealt a blow earlier this afternoon.

This came by way of confirmation that star midfielder Jude Bellingham had suffered a training ground blow, subsequently diagnosed by the club as ‘an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg’.

The England international, as a result, is expected to spend the next month on the treatment table.

Safe to say, then, that Carlo Ancelotti and his staff have some work to do, in replacing the reigning La Liga Player of the Season.

And, in their early plans for as much, two names have already come to the fore.

As per a report from Marca, those at Valdebebas are set to choose between youth and experience when it comes to Bellingham’s replacement:

‘The expectation would be for the Italian coach to use Luka Modrić or Arda Güler to replace the Englishman.’
