Former Liverpool star Fabinho has claimed the club are "desperate" to secure new contracts for Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.

The three Reds stars will see their current deals expire at the end of the season and there are huge question marks about each player's future at Anfield, having played huge roles in the team's success under previous manager Jurgen Klopp.

Alexander-Arnold raised eyebrows earlier this week by admitting he wants to become the first full-back to win the Ballon d'Or, fuelling speculation of a departure next year amid strong links to Real Madrid.

Van Dijk has admitted "discussions are ongoing" over a new contract, while Salah is said to be a major target for the Saudi Pro League and prompted concern earlier when he said this season would be his "last" as a Liverpool player.

Their old teammate Fabinho, who has played in Saudi Arabia since joing Al Ittihad in 2023, has now commented on the ongoing situation, revealing he hasn't had any contact with any of the trio.

He told FourFourTwo: "I haven't talked to them lately and to be honest I didn't see any news about them coming to the Saudi League or leaving Liverpool.

"I know that some players like Mo, Virgil and Trent are at the end of their contract, and I think Liverpool are desperate to get them a new contract, but it's not my problem any more!"

The future of Alexander-Arnold has dominated Liverpool circles more so than Van Dijk and Salah of late, with Madrid known admirers of the England international. Club legend Jamie Carragher recently claimed the 26-year-old's Ballon d'Or ambition hinted at adesire to move to the Bernabeu in future.
