AC Milan’s dependance on Christian Pulisic goes beyond just numbers, but the stats do show how much the team rely on him to create.
MilanPress begin a piece by writing: ‘This is Christian Pulisic’s Milan’. Despite usually starting as a winger, the American is always at the centre of the danger that the team create and is often present on the scoresheet.
Since the beginning of the season, the former Chelsea man has scored eight goals in 17 games, with five assists to add. It is a total of 13 goal involvements, while these have not come in bunches, i.e. he doesn’t tend to get multiple within the same game.
In fact, there are only five games in which he played that he did not get either a goal or an assist. Those were, in order: Torino, Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, Monza and Juventus. The number of goals for Milan in these matches: 2, 0, 0, 1, 0.
The No.11 also set his personal Champions League record last night against Slovan Bratislava with his third goal, and has been involved in four goals in his last five appearances in the top European competition (three goals and one assist).
He is indispensable for Paulo Fonseca if he wants the Rossoneri to dream of the top eight places, while his numbers have begun to attract the interest from certain clubs in the Premier League it seems.
