Thomas Tuchel has handed a massive blow to Southampton by sidelining Aaron Ramsdale from the Albania meeting.

Every Premier League fan would admit that England's football team enjoys a good reputation on the global stage. While the Three Lions often handpick the best national talents at their disposal, a vast majority of them come from the English top flight itself.

Hence, it seems pretty obvious to acknowledge that those world-class players will be a part of the biggest Premier League sides. Well, this isn't a guaranteed convention because underperforming teams like Southampton also witness their respectable representation in the playing lineups.

For this international break, the Saints have Aaron Ramsdale to thank once again. Not only does the 26-year-old bring selection honour to Southampton but his praiseworthy performances have also minimised their on-field criticisms to some extent.

Yet, the statistical nature of the competition refuses to give him the deserved recognition. Unfortunately, those figures also align well with Thomas Tuchel's tactical wisdom.

Ramsdale will experience England's match like every Southampton fan

According to a recent report from the Daily Echo, Tuchel has omitted Ramsdale from his goalkeeping department for the Albania match.

I guess, these developments are enough to summarise the mood of every Southampton fan including Aaron Ramsdale. Though Jordan Pickford would have been the straightaway starting candidate, Tuchel's confidence in Ramsdale suggests that the latter might not see any playing time in these two matches.

In all honesty, Ramsdale hasn't hit the international heights expected from him so far but such verdicts might make it even more difficult to realise his regular mainstay goal.

Still, Ramsdale has time with his side and a brilliant individual as well as collective season will turn his fortunes for the better in Tuchel's tenure. Let's hope it happens sooner rather than later for Ramsdale.
