According to Brazilian outlet De Primeira, manager Tiago Nunes, who takes over the Corinthians squad in January 2020, has called for Shakhtar Donetsk striker Taison to join the club.
The 31-year-old, who was named to Tite’s 23-man World Cup squad last year, has been a huge part of the Ukrainian squad but has asked to leave the club after he and team-mate (and former Corinthians number 10) Dentinho were left in tears after they were subjected to racist abuse during a match earlier this month.
Taison has a contract with Shakhtar until June 2021 and while a permanent move seems very unlikely, a year-long loan for the player has not been ruled out.
Thiago Nunes is believed to be prioritising a centre-back, a left-back, a central midfielder, an outside midfielder, and a striker in January.
Taison has been at Shakhtar since January 2013 and has scored six goals and added six assists in 11 Premier Liga matches this season.
He has not been involved with the club since the incident took place against Dynamo Kyiv on 10 November.
