Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Tomas Cvancara has responded to a report emerging earlier today claiming that the team leadership council asked for him to be excluded from the future matchday squads. The Bundesliga professional vented on his instagram feed Wednesday afternoon.
“I went to the management in the winter because, after my injury, I felt that I wasn’t meeting expectations and my performances weren’t what both sides wanted,” the 24-year-old wrote. “[After a loan deal was rejected], I was made promises that were not kept.”
Cvancara surely referred to the fact that he’s been asked to serve on the right wing behind lead striker Tim Kleindienst. The report published by Sport Bild earlier suggested that Kliendienst himself led the cadre of players asking for Cvancara’s exclusion. Kleindienst has thus far not commented on the matter.
“Even though I wasn’t convinced about my role and wasn’t happy, I always gave 100 percent on the pitch,” Cvancara added in his social media post.
