Tosun admits recommending Fenerbahce youngster Guler to Everton

Departing Everton striker Cenk Tosun admits he recommended they sign Fenerbahce youngster Arda Guler.

Guler, 17, has emerged as a first-team option for Fenerbahce this season and made 12 Super Lig appearances for the Turkish giants as they finished runners-up.

Fanatik reports how Tosun told the Toffees of Guler's talent, though this failed to result in any transfer activity.

“Everton asked me last year (about some of Turkey's most exciting young talent)," said Tosun, who confirmed his impending departure following Everton's final day defeat at Arsenal.

“I mentioned Arda from Fenerbahce. They (Everton) looked but did not make a move because he was under 18."
