Tottenham will reportedly make a move for Japan international Hiroki Sakai this summer in a bid to bolster their full-back options.
Both Kieran Trippier and Danny Rose look set to leave the club during the off-season with Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain potential destinations for the English pair.
As such, Mauricio Pochettino is on the lookout for a versatile defender who can play across the back four, and seems to have hit upon Sakai as that man.
Sky Sports say that Pochettino sees the 29-year-old as a solid squad player, who can add depth and experience, but will aim for younger targets first off.
Spurs want Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon and potentially Lucas Digne as well to become their first choice full-backs for next term.
