In a recent report, The Daily Express stated that Tottenham Hotspur are facing stiff competition for Shakhtar Donetsk playmaker Georgiy Sudakov. It has been mentioned that Spurs would have to rival Chelsea in the race to recruit the Ukrainian attacker this summer.

Sudakov has caught the eye with his performances for Shakhtar on the offensive end of the field. The 21-year-old has made 34 appearances for his current employers this season, finding the back of the net ten times and picking up six assists in all competitions.

The Ukrainian talent has managed to impress with his contributions as an important member of Shakhtar’s attack. At the moment, he is amongst the best young talents in European football, so Tottenham would do well to snap him up in the future.

His current contract at the Ukrainian club will run out at the end of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.

Sudakov can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range. He is a good dribbler with the ball as well and has got the vision to orchestrate some decent chances for others around him in the final third.

The Ukraine international has done well to chip by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team this season. He mainly functions as an attacking midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder or serve as a left-winger if told to do so.

We can expect Sudakov to enhance the quality of Tottenham head coach Angelos Postecoglu’s attack. He is more than capable of challenging for a regular starting spot at the North London club in the coming seasons.

At 21, the future looks bright for the Ukrainian sensation as long as he continues to improve with each season. He would be well worth the fight, so Tottenham should consider stepping up their chase to land him in the summer transfer window. However, it remains to be seen whether Sudakov can make a smooth transition to life in England.
