Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly eyeing a move for AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola to replace head coach Ange Postecoglou, per the Daily Mail.

The Spaniard has emerged as a serious candidate for Tottenham due to his impressive work at Rayo Vallecano and now Bournemouth. His teams play high-intensity, aggressive football.

After leading Bournemouth to their record point tally last season, he is on course to break it this term. The Cherries have been box office and could earn themselves a place in the Champions League at the expense of bigger clubs like Spurs, Newcastle United, and Chelsea if they keep this momentum.

Iraola has transformed Bournemouth into one of the Premier League’s most dynamic sides, catching the eye of Tottenham.

However, their pursuit has become more complicated, with Madrid entering the equation. Los Blancos are considering alternatives should Carlo Ancelotti leave, and Iraola is an option.

Tottenham must do everything to convince Iraola

Tottenham must act fast. Postecoglou is under mounting pressure after a disappointing season, and a managerial change should be on the horizon.

Iraola represents an ideal candidate for Spurs – a progressive coach with a clear tactical identity, a track record of overachieving, and an ability to implement an exciting playing style. He is reminiscent of club legend Mauricio Pochettino.

However, if Madrid solidify their interest, the allure of the Santiago Bernabeu could prove too strong.

The Tottenham project is attractive. Iraola can manage a historic club in the Premier League with a talented squad and financial backing. Yet, compared to Madrid, Spurs are almost miniscule.

Daniel Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy must make their case now. They need to convince Iraola that North London is the perfect next step in his career.

They must assure him the time and resources to build something lasting – an opportunity he might not get in Madrid, where the demands for immediate success are relentless.

His football takes time to embellish, as we saw at Vallecano and Bournemouth, where he struggled initially, but Tottenham could become a force when the lads catch on.

Tottenham cannot afford to hesitate. If they see him as the man to lead them forward, they must act urgently and make him an offer too good to refuse. Otherwise, they risk watching another top managerial talent like Arne Slot slip away.
