The teenager is flying into London to complete his long-awaited move to Spurs
Incoming Tottenham signing Yang Min-hyeok has outlined his plans for his first days and weeks in London as he departs South Korea to join the club.
As reported by Standard Sport last month, Spurs brought Yang's arrival forward a few weeks to help the teenager settle before joining the first-team squad at the earliest opportunity once he is registered in January.
Spurs agreed a deal to sign the 18-year-old winger from Gangwon FC over the summer - for a record fee for a player moving from Korea to Europe - and much is expected from a rising star of South Korean football.
Addressing reporters at Incheon International Airport on Monday, Yang spoke of his "mixture of excitement and anticipation" at joining Spurs, and watched his new team thrashing Southampton in the early hours of the morning in Seoul.
Asked what manager Ange Postecoglou had told him ahead of his arrival, Yang said: "I’ve been in contact with the coach and staff too. The coach told me to stay injury-free and continue doing what I’ve been showing.
"Personally, I’ve been focusing on mental preparation and maintaining my physical fitness, including weight training. Since I’ll be joining midway through the season, I’m focusing on rest to avoid injuries while keeping up light workouts to prepare."
Yang will be expected to enjoy training soon after his arrival, though will not be able to play for Spurs until his visa is awarded - which "might take about a week to sort out " - and the Premier League registration window opens on January 1.
A potential debut could come against Tamworth in the FA Cup on January 12, but he has already had to pick a different shirt number after missing out to fellow young start Mikey Moore for his preferred pick.
“I initially wanted 47, but I was informed that it’s already taken,” he said.”I’ll decide on a new number once I arrive.

“Personally, I feel ready, and I’ll work even harder to show my best performance. I hope fans will continue to cheer for me. While I haven’t shown much yet, I’ll do my best, and I’m excited for this new chapter at Tottenham. I look forward to learning from senior players there and working hard to contribute to the team."
"I’d say I’m at about 80–90 per cent readiness," Yang continued, and added: "I consider myself a bit smaller and more agile, so I feel confident in my quick bursts of speed.
"Initially, I’ll be adjusting with the help of my agent, and once I settle in, my parents plan to come over to live with me."
He added: "Tottenham has advised me to focus on recovery since I’ll be arriving after finishing my league season. They’ve also provided a training program centred around stretching and recovery. This will be my first time in London, so I’m excited and looking forward to going.
"My goal is to complete the remainder of the season without injuries, participate in matches, and contribute to the team with goals or assists. I haven’t set specific personal goals yet."
