Tottenham Hotspur have quashed speculation linking Mauricio Pochettino with a return to the club by reaffirming their commitment to Ange Postecoglou despite recent challenges.

According to the Daily Mail, Spurs are not looking to bring the much-loved Argentine manager back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

A section of Spurs supporters want Pochettino, who led the club to the Champions League final in 2019, to return to Tottenham.

However, the Argentine is fully focused on his new role as head coach of the United States national team, with his sights set on leading the country into the World Cup in 2026.

Pochettino is determined to take the team to the grandest stage, making any potential move back to north London highly unlikely.

There are specific clauses in Pochettino’s contract with the US team that would present significant hurdles for any club attempting to lure him away before the next World Cup.

These contractual complexities and his commitment to the project make his return to Spurs improbable.

Tottenham remain firmly behind Postecoglou, who has enjoyed a largely positive start to life in London despite a recent dip in form.

The Australian quickly won plaudits for instilling an attacking philosophy and rejuvenating the squad. However, injuries have hit them hard this season.

While Spurs have faced setbacks in their push for a top-four finish, the club hierarchy believes in the manager and his long-term vision. They continue to support his project.

If they do support Postecoglou, they need to back it up with new signings before the close of the transfer window on Monday.
