Liverpool had to fight back to earn a draw with Aston Villa, after finding themselves behind at half-time.
Scorers: Salah 29' Alexander-Arnold 61, Tielemans 38', Watkins 45+2'
Aston Villa had the ball in the back of the net first through Marcus Rashford, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
But the home side had almost been punished a number of times when playing out from the back, and eventually they were punished when a loose ball was intercepted, Diogo Jota playing a ball across the six-yard box, allowing an unmarked Mohamed Salah to fire home.
That lead did not last however, and Villa hit back when a long ball was played forward into the box and – after a game of head tennis – Youri Tielemans hit a shot that ricocheted back off the grass and hit the back of the net.
Unai Emery's men clearly hadn't read the script and took the lead against the league leaders in first half stoppage time when Lucas Digne put a superb cross into the box for Ollie Watkins to guide his header beyond the reach of Alisson.
Villa held firm until just after the hour mark, when Salah once again proved his brilliance by skipping over a tough challenge before laying the ball off to Trent Alexander-Arnold, who rifled his shot in from the edge of the box.
With just under ten minutes remaining, Jacob Ramsey netted for Villa, but for the second time of the evening, Villa's attempt was chalked off for offside.
The result leaves Liverpool eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, with Arsenal able to cut that lead to five points if they win their game in hand.
