Trio of Atlético Madrid stars could depart next summer | OneFootball

Three members of the first-team setup at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid could be allowed to move on next summer.

That’s according to Relevo transfer insider Matteo Moretto, who has this weekend provided an insight into the latest developments in Spain’s capital.

Two members of Diego Simeone’s squad who look certain to bring their respective stints in Rojiblancos colours to a close ahead of the 2025/26 campaign are César Azpilicueta, and Axel Witsel.

Both are due to see their contracts in Madrid come to an end in the summer, with the understanding, at present, that neither will be offered a renewal.

And potentially in line to follow suit out the exit door at the Metropolitano is Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman’s future is considered as being up in the air, with his intentions for next season remaining entirely unclear.

An extension to his current terms (due to expire in 2026) is not out of the question, but neither, according to Relevo, is Griezmann taking his talents to MLS:

‘It is not yet certain that he will continue at Atleti next season: It will be a family matter, a personal decision. The MLS hypothesis is alive, Olivier Giroud’s team, Los Angeles FC, wants him.’
