Tuttosport newspaper claims Xabi Alonso has been identified as the ideal replacement for Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, so Claudio Ranieri hopes to convince his compatriot to join Roma next season.

Real Madrid coach Ancelotti is Roma’s primary target to replace Ranieri in 2025-26.

More precisely, according to Tuttosport, Ranieri has identified Ancelotti as the ideal Roma coach for next season.

Ranieri has signed a contract until the end of the season, but the Italian tactician will remain at the club beyond the end of his deal and will have his say in selecting the new coach for the next campaign.

According to Tuttosport, Ranieri sees Ancelotti as the ideal option for Roma because of his experience, love for the club, and knowledge of Italian football.

Ancelotti is contracted with Madrid until 2026, but it’s not guaranteed that he will remain at the Bernabeu until then, mainly because the Merengues have already identified his replacement, Xabi Alonso.

By winning the FIFA Intercontinental Cup this week, Ancelotti has become the most successful coach in Real Madrid’s history.

According to Gazzetta, Brazil remains interested in the Italian tactician, and the federation could make a new attempt to hire Ancelotti if Ronaldo wins the presidential elections.
