Tuttosport: An Italian derby – Milan to contest Juventus for Theo ‘replacement’ | OneFootball

AC Milan and Juventus have had some great battles over the years, and they will face again in the mercato this summer it seems.

With Theo Hernandez’s performances dwindling this season, there has been a lot of talk about who would take that role next. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already stated that Alex Jimenez is the deputy to the Frenchman, but it seems the club want more.

That is why there have been links to a number of high-quality young left-backs, and the shining light of them seems to be Maxim De Cuyper – the Club Brugge defender who the club have already scouted.

Previously described as the ‘alternate’ to the Frenchman, the Belgian could arrive this summer, especially with Theo’s Milan journey all but done. However, it will not be an easy task to land the young defender.

Tuttosport (via Milan News) reports that there is attraction from ‘some of the best teams in Europe’ for the Belgian, but two teams currently stand out – Juventus and Milan.

The Old Lady currently have the Brugge defender on their list, and their interest is ‘strong’. As a result, there are predictions in place that the two giants will have a ‘head-to-head’ in the summer for the defender, who is ‘ready’ for the next step.
