After a delay of two hours for Youssouf Fofana’s press conference, Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave the patient journalists something to write about with his admission on Manu Kone.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via PianetaMilan) talks about Ibrahimovic’s words during the unveiling of Fofana as a new signing, which happened yesterday a few hours before the first game of the season against Torino.

“With these four purchases [Morata, Pavlovic, Emerson Royal and Fofana] we have two players for each role, we have Milan Futuro with many talents and then we don’t need to sell anyone because there are many games. And then the market ends when I say so: we are on day six of seven of the construction of Milan, I don’t feel tired, so we continue,” he said.

These were clear words from the Senior Advisor, confirming that Milan in the last two weeks of the window are open to the possibility of some other signings, and then he was asked more specifically about the links with Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach.

“The four purchases were our priorities even before Fonseca arrived. Manu Koné? We are following him, he has grown a lot . With Fofana, a bit of space for him is closed, but we’ll see.”

The French midfielder could therefore be Milan’s last move in the mercato, but a couple of midfielders would have leave first. Yesterday Paulo Fonseca did not call up Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega and they are the two main suspects to depart.

It cannot be ruled out that in the next few days an offer could arrive from Saudi Arabia (Al-Qasdiah and Al-Hilal are keen above all) for Ismael Bennacer too. With those funds, Milan could get closer to the €25m that Monchengladbach want for Kone, possibly striking a few for a few million less.
