Oostende announced their second player of the day following the arrival of Pierre Dwomoh, with Cracovia defender Matej Rodin moving from Poland to Belgium. The 26 year-old Croatian defender has spent two and a half years with the Krakow based side after leaving NK Varazdin in his native country. Rodin has made 14 appearances for Cracovia this season, scoring one goal.

The new addition signed a deal that will keep him with Oostende till 2026. Speaking to the clubs website, the CEO Gauthier Ganaye spoke of how the club were missing a central defender of the like of Rodin, who he said was a key player for his former side. Ganaye hopes that Rodin will bring leadership to the defence, which features a number of youngsters such as club captain Anton Tanghe (23) and former Celtic defender Osaze Urhoghide (22).

Oostende have been searching for defenders to fill gaps left by Arthur Theate and Jack Hendry, whose partnership was crucial as the side under then head coach Alexander Blessin made it to the play-offs in 2020/2021.
