Scorers: Bonucci 39′; Mbappé 13′, Mendes 69′

Paris Saint-Germain impressed and won in Turin but it was not enough to hold onto top spot in their group.

A superb Kylian Mbappé opener had the Parisiens on track early on as he left two defenders in his wake before finding the far corner.

But Juve, looking to ensure they reached the Europa League, had a sliding Leonardo Bonucci to thank for an equaliser as he converted Juan Cuadrado’s inch-perfect cross.

PSG struggled to create clear chances despite dominating possession until a sub paid off perfectly; Nuno Mendes broke free on the left and found the bottom corner just moments after he was introduced.

Juventus had the ball back in the net for a second equaliser but Manuel Locatelli was marginally offside before converting.

PSG held on for the three points but did not manage to hold on to first place because …

Benfica do enough to snatch group win

Scorers: Chery (pen) 26′; Gonçalo Ramos 20′, Musa 59′, Grimaldo 69′, Rafa 74′, Araujo 88′, Mário 90+1′

A stunning 6-1 win saw Benfica catch PSG’s goal difference and ultimately qualify as group winners thanks to goals scored away from home.

It didn’t look like it would come off when a penalty from Maccabi Haifa winger Chery cancelled out a powerful Gonçalo Ramos opener.

News of a Juventus equaliser in Turin would have reached Benfica at half-time and yet another bullet header, this time from Petar Musa, restored their lead, but their time top of the group was short-lived, with Nuno Mendes sending PSG back in front over in Italy.

It was now a race for goal difference. An excellent Alejandro Grimaldo free-kick gave Benfica some hope, a calm close range finish from Rafa Silva added more, but time was running out.

Henrique Araújo restored belief three minutes from time before an injury time strike from João Mário meant they had done enough to grab to spot in incredibly dramatic fashion.

Milan qualify with big home win

Scorers: Giroud 14′, 57′, Krunić 46′, Messias 90+1′

Milan sealed a place in the knockout rounds with a comfortable home win against Salzburg.

Theo Hernandez hit the post early on as Milan looked to attack from the off, knowing a point would be enough to qualify. And they didn’t have to wait long for their opener, with Olivier Giroud finding the bottom corner with a fine header from a corner.

Giroud thought he had scored a second, tapping in after a Hernandez effort, but was just ruled offside.

And it was Giroud at the heart of things again as Milan doubled their lead in the first minute after half-time, rising highest to nod a cross back to Rade Krunić, who doubled Milan’s lead.

A third was added by – guess who? – Giroud from close range, capitalising on a loose ball after a superb run saw winger Rafael Leão cross from one flank to the other before delivering into the box and Junior Messias scored from 20 yards to add some extra late gloss to the scoreline.

Chelsea survive scare as debut goal wins it

Scorers: Sterling 18′, Zakaria 30′; Petković 7′

Having already beaten Chelsea in Croatia, Dinamo Zagreb were looking for an even bigger shock and took the lead at Stamford Bridge before losing on Wednesday night.

Chelsea failed to deal with a lofted ball to the back post early and it was nodded back into the middle, where Bruno Petković was on hand to head home.

The Blues responded by converting their first big chance, with a superb Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang backheel finding Raheem Sterling, who shimmied his way into some space and converted inside the area.

It was debutant Denis Zakaria who completed the turnaround, superbly sliding home an effort from the edge of the area, quelling any Dinamo hopes of a big upset.

Most worryingly for Chelsea, Ben Chilwell was lost to injury late on and his World Cup could now be in doubt.

Manchester City v Sevilla

Scorers: Lewis 52′, Álvarez 72′, Mahrez 83′; Rafa Mir 31′

A final matchday win was not as routine as expected for Manchester City.

City dominated the early stages of this dead rubber but Sevilla took the lead against the run of play, with Rafa Mir scoring a fantastic looping header.

But the Etihad Stadium had a moment to remember after the break, as teenage right-back Rico Lewis marked his first City start with a goal, firing into the roof of the net from the edge of the area.

City finally got their noses in front with the introduction of Kevin De Bruyne, who superbly found Erling Haaland replacement Julián Álvarez, who calmly rounded the keeper before converting.

Any chance of an upset was extinguished late on when sub Riyad Mahrez scooped an effort beyond Bono.

FC Copenhagen v Borussia Dortmund

Scorers: Haraldsson 41′; Hazard 23′

Dortmund won a point against the run of play as Copenhagen impressed in Denmark.

One fullback assisted another for the opener as a Felix Passlack cross made itself to makeshift left-back Thorgan Hazard in space. The Belgian took his time to smash home on the half-volley.

A deserved equaliser arrived for the hosts before the break, though, as Gio Reyna and Mats Hummels both erred before Hákon Haraldsson calmly slotted in Viktor Claesson’s cutback.

The goal was Copenhagen’s first of the group stage and they could have had more were it not for some first half heroics from Gregor Kobel and some second half profligacy.

Early penalties help Real Madrid seal top spot

Scorers: Modrić (pen) 6′, Rodrygo (pen) 21′, Asensio 51′, Vinícius Jr. 61′, Valverde 71′; Jota 84′

Real Madrid have finished top of their Champions League group, sealing first with a dominant win over Celtic.

Three penalties were taken, two scored, in an engaging first half at the Bernabéu. Luka Modrić converted the first after a Federico Valverde effort hit an unfortunate Moritz Jenz on the arm, and Rodrygo netted the second after his effort in normal play hit Matt O’Riley’s arm.

Celtic had the chance to respond from 12 yards themselves as Ferland Mendy brought down Liel Abada but Thibaut Courtois was equal to Josip Juranović’s effort from the spot 10 minutes before half-time.

Any chance of a Celtic comeback was extinguished with Marco Asensio firing home from the edge of the area minutes after half-time. A fourth was added by Vinícius Júnior, who arrived at the right moment to convert Valverde’s driven low cross from the right.

Valverde soon got in on the act himself, striking superbly from the edge of the area to take his personal tally for the season to eight goals.

Celtic got themselves on the scoresheet late on, with a superb free-kick from Jota met by loud celebrations by the travelling supporters scattered throughout the stadium but the Scottish champions are now out of Europe.

RB Leipzig dominate Shakhtar Donetsk to qualify

Scorers: Nkunku 10′, Siva 50′, Szoboszlai 62′, Olmo 68′

RB Leipzig are also through after a dominant win in Warsaw.

An early goal settled any potential nerves, with Christopher Nkunku calmly finishing after a close-range Timo Werner effort was parried out. As for the celebration, let’s just say its meaning was open to interpretation.

The Bundesliga outfit doubled their lead shortly after the break as André Silva bundled the ball home from a tight angle after some lax defending. From there Shakhtar had nothing to lose but some offensive subs allowed them to be sliced open at the back and Dominik Szoboszlai had plenty of time to pick his spot after Nkunku put him through on the break.

Dani Olmo added a fourth with his first touch after coming on, superbly curling home from a tight angle after a free-kick out wide was played short.

Real Madrid’s result means top spot was out of reach but Leipzig will just be happy to have sealed their place in the knockout rounds.
