According to Fabrizio Romano, Udinese have reached an agreement to sign Oumar Solet (24) on a free transfer. The French defender is a free agent following the mutual termination of his contract with RB Salzburg.

Solet was at the interest of several clubs during the summer transfer window but a move never materialised. West Ham United were interested in signing the former Lyon centre back but after signing Max Kilman from Wolves and Jean-Clair Todibo from OGC Nice, they never acted upon their interest.

With the 24-year-old not getting the move he longed for in the summer, that could now be about to happen. Udinese are working towards completing the final steps to be able to unveil Solet as a new player of the Serie A club. The defender was spotted in the stands ahead of the Udine club’s upcoming Coppa Italia match against Salernitana being played on Wednesday evening.
