UEFA have formally assigned the 2025 edition of the European Super Cup to Udinese’s stadium, along with confirming Turin will host the Nations League Final Four if Italy beat Germany.
The debate drags on about how Italian authorities can speed up the unnecessarily complex process of building new football stadiums, with clubs like Inter, Milan, Roma and Fiorentina seeing their projects mired in red tape.
However, some who did manage to complete the process are reaping the rewards and gaining recognition from UEFA.
It was announced today that the UEFA Executive Committee chose the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine – the Stadio Friuli without the sponsorship title – to host the 2025 UEFA Super Cup Final.
This is the clash between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League.
It will be played on August 13, 2025.
“After hosting the 2019 Final of the European Under-21 Championship and four Italy matches, the Bluenergy Stadium and Udinese Calcio are proud and honoured to host a game that I would call epic,” said Udinese director general Franco Collavino.
“It is not just important for sport, but for the city of Udine and the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.”

That is not all, as UEFA also assigned the hosting rights for the 2025 Nations League Final Four to either Italy or Germany, depending on who wins their play-off.
The tournament will run from June 4 to 8 and, if Italy win, will be split between the Allianz Juventus Stadium and the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in Turin.
If Germany host, it will be split between Munich and Stuttgart.
