UEFA have announced their Champions League Team of the Week for Matchday 2, following the midweek European action.

Emiliano Martinez is the sole Premier League representative in the side after an inspired goalkeeping performance during Aston Villa’s 1-0 win over Bayern Munich.

The Argentina international made a string of saves to preserve his clean sheet at Villa Park, including an excellent stop from Harry Kane’s header and a late sprawl to deny Serge Gnabry in stoppage time.

Karim Adeyemi is included after scoring a first-half hat-trick in Borussia Dortmund’s 7-1 thrashing of Celtic, while Dusan Vlahovic leads the line after scoring twice in Juventus’ 3-2 win at RB Leipzig.

The Italian side were reduced to 10 men and trailed 2-1 before Vlahovic helped inspire a comeback at the Red Bull Arena.

Barcelona midfielder Raphinha is named in the XI after a goal and assist against Young Boys, while Quinten Timber – twin brother of Arsenal defender, Jurrien – is selected for his role in Feyenoord’s 3-2 win at Girona.

Ex-Chelsea defender Davide Zappacpsta makes the cut after starring in a win for Atalanta and there’s also a place for Abdallah Sima after the winger scored twice in Brest’s impressive 4-0 win at Red Bull Salzburg. The Senegalese forward is on loan at the Ligue 1 side from Premier League outfit Brighton.
