According to Sport1 journalist Patrick Berger, Union Berlin have found their Taiwo Awoniyi successor in Jordan Siebatcheu from Swiss side BSC Young Boys for a reported €6m.
Days after selling Awoniyi for a club-record transfer fee of €20.5m to Nottingham Forest, Union have set their sights on the 26-year-old American forward.
Last season, Siebatcheu was the top goalscorer in the Swiss Super League with 22 goals to his name, taking his tally to 27 goals in 45 games across all competitions for Young Boys.
The €6m fee that Union are expected to pay would be the second-highest transfer fee paid in the club’s history.
Siebatcheu made a name for himself when he signed for Young Boys on loan in 2020 before making his move permanent from French side Rennes.
The forward played twice for France U21 before declaring for the United States. He’s scored one goal in nine appearances for the US.
