Uriel Antuna admits he never felt protected at Chivas | OneFootball

Now that Uriel Antuna has moved on to the next stage of his career with Cruz Azul, the 24-year-old admitted he felt Chivas could have done more to make him feel welcome.

Antuna has performed fantastically at the international level with El Tri and over the summer at the Olympics but could never get the momentum going in Guadalajara.

The former Manchester City-owner winger got into disciplinary trouble on multiple occasions and he believes Chivas never allowed him to move on.

“The truth is that I have no complaints, I never had anything against them, I do not know if they against me. The truth is that I never felt in a certain way… I was wrapped up you can say.

“At the end of the day, I did not focus so much on that. Maybe it was annoying and sometimes you have to protect the players a little more.

“Sometimes, they (Chivas) did not and well, at the end of the day, everyone has their own way of handling everything.

“You learn to deal with these kinds of issues, you learn from mistakes, and that’s what happened to me. I had to learn the hard way. ”

Antuna, who contributed six goals and nine assists in 64 games with Chivas, has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at Cruz Azul until 2024.
