After making his Augsburg and Bundesliga debut in January 2025, German-American defender Noahkai Banks is now an option for the US national team for their upcoming international matches in March.
Kicker report that the USMNT will make a decision early next month on whether to nominate the 18-year-old central-defender for Mauricio Pochettino’s squad. Banks has played six Bundesliga games in 2025 for Augsburg, starting twice and while behind Jeffrey Gouweleeuw, Chrislain Matsima, Cédric Zesiger and Keven Schlotterbeck in the centre-back position, Banks is highly thought of at FCA.
Banks has represented the US at youth level, and they can also lure the youngster with a potential place at the 2026 World Cup, something that would be extremely unlikely in the German national team, but there is no doubt that Julian Nagelsmann and the DFB are monitoring the player’s development.
Banks’ upward trajectory resulted interest from a top five Serie A club in January, per kicker.
