Brazil and the USA both needed extra-time to win through to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup quarter-finals.
Brazil 3-1 (aet) Cameroon Spain 2-1 Canada Mexico 2-3 (aet) USA Colombia 1-0 South Korea
The USA will face the winners of tonight’s tie between Germany and Argentina on the evening of Sunday 15 September, after eventually eliminating Mexico. Pietra Tordin and Allyson Sendtner twice has the US ahead, Valerie Vargas and Angelique Saldivar equalising but Jordynn Dudley’s 97th-minute goal proving to be the winner.

Brazil had to come from behind to knockout Cameroon, with North Korea or Austria to be their next opponents. Naomi Neto netted a penalty and Priscila pulled Brazil level, before goals at the start and end of extra time by Dudinha were decisive.
Spain set up a clash with Japan or Nigeria when also fighting back to progress. Florianne Jourde broke the deadlock after the hour for Canada, only for Jone Amezaga to swiftly respond and Silvia Lloris to get the second for Spain with nine minutes left.

Linda Caicedo struck for hosts Colombia midway through the second half, as they saw off South Korea to book a last-eight match with France or the Netherlands.
