Barcelona’s unbeaten run ends in Munich stunner

Scorers: BĂŒhl 4â€Č, Magull 10â€Č, SchĂŒller 60â€Č

Bayern Munich condemned Barcelona to their first defeat of the season with a stunning victory at the Allianz Arena.

The hosts made a dream start when Klara BĂŒhl put them ahead with the aid of a deflection from Irene Paredes after just four minutes.

That was Bayern’s first ever Champions League goal against Barcelona, and they didn’t have to wait long for their second, with Lina Magull soon making it 2-0 in the 10th minute.

Into the second half and Bayern went 3-0 up when Magull’s cross to the back post found Lea SchĂŒller to score with a towering header into the far corner.

The visitors soon hit back, however, with Geyse pouncing on a heavy touch from Maria Luisa Grohs to pick the goalkeeper’s pocket and score.

That result leaves Bayern level on nine points with leaders Barça at the top of Group D.

Miedema goal gives Gunners victory at the Emirates

Scorers: Miedema 16â€Č

Over 6,000 supporters watched Arsenal overcome Juventus at the Emirates Stadium.

Vivianne Miedema scored what proved to be the only goal of the game when she met Stina Blackstenius’s cross perfectly at the back post and fired into the top corner after 16 minutes.

The Gunners remain top of Group C, three points ahead of Lyon.

Lyon knock ZĂŒrich out with two games to spare

Scorers: Horan 14â€Č, Malard 65â€Č, 79â€Č, Cascarino 90+4â€Č

ZĂŒrich were eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday after Lyon subjected them to their fourth consecutive defeat in the competition this season.

Lindsey Horan gave Lyon an early lead when a deep cross found her at the back post and she fired a shot through the legs of both a defender and goalkeeper Seraina Friedli.

The second Lyon goal came in the 65th minute, when Melvine Malard nipped in front of the goalkeeper to head home.

And Malard then made it a brace with another header before Delphine Cascarino completed the rout for Sonia Bompastor’s side deep into added time.

That win leaves the holders second in Group C.

RosengÄrd also out after defeat to Benfica

Scorers: Schough 30â€Č; Lacasse 37â€Č, 40â€Č, Raysla 47â€Č

RosengÄrd are also out of the Champions League after Benfica came from behind to win at Malmö Idrottsplats.

The Swedish hosts went in front in the 30th minute, when an effort from Olivia Schough beat Benfica goalkeeper Rute Costa with the aid of a wicked deflection.

But their lead didn’t last long, with CloĂ© Lacasse soon equalising for the visitors with a great finish through goalkeeper Teagan Micah’s legs.

And three minutes later Lacasse bagged her second of the game and her sixth in the Champions League this season when she fired across goal and into the far corner for 2-1.

The third Benfica goal came two minutes into the second half, when Nicole Raysla lashed home from Francisca Nazareth’s assist.

Benfica remain third in Group D.
