Valencia beat Atlético Madrid to Aaron Mayol signing | OneFootball

The board at Valencia have beaten out competition from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid to strike a deal for a highly-regarded young talent.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Aaron Mayol as the player in question.

Mayol, for his part, is a 16-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his trade with Segunda outfit Levante.

The starlet is considered a potential star in the making across the Spanish football landscape, enough to give rise to mounting interest in his signature ahead of the coming summer.

The aforementioned Atlético are one such club to have made their keenness on Mayol known with a view to next season.

But as alluded to above, the Rojiblancos have ultimately lost out.

As per a report from Marca:

‘Aaron Mayol, Levante’s youth star, is moving to Valencia. The player has already signed for the next two seasons with the black and white team after rejecting Levante’s renewal offer.’

Mayol will initially ply his trade with Los Che’s youth setup, with one eye on making the step up to senior level in the near future.
